I just gave an example of a stereotypical emo type of thing for something that IS indeed stereotypical in its nature. Every emo band there is has ridiculous long titles about stupid shit and that type of thing. If you want some examples I could look around myspace for you.
And I am not ignorant. I quite knowledgable about music. Not in the sense of spewing out obscure band names, but I actually KNOW music. I'm sure there are some good emo bands out there, but mostly in the sense that people like them. See, music is two things. Art, and etertainment. Just because people like a painting does that make it good? No. Just like music. And NO, it is not a bold artistic statement to put your hair over one eye and sing like a girl and play power chords and some bad harmonies while one guy sings something and another asshole screams it in a high pitched voice.
I've dealt with enough emo, elitist assholes to not become an elitist asshole myself. I'm sorry, but you are incorrect.
