Eh, my tastebuds don't go numb until after a few hours of drinking. I have a very keen taste when it comes to beers and liquor. My palet only agrees with few liquors, and although I like basically ALL beers, I only drink 3 different ones (Coors Light, Heineken, Yeungling Lager). Unless of course there is another light beer on special, then I don't really care.
