Cowboys Abruptly Release QB Quincy Carter
The Cowboys made a shocking move Wednesday morning, cutting starting quarterback Quincy Carter for unspecified reasons. Both Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells would not elaborate why Carter was sent home from Oxnard, Calif. Jones said he was "extremely disappointed" with Carter and Parcells very tellingly added he could "not risk having him in the (future) plans." The move paves the way for Vinny Testaverde to be the team's starting quarterback and leaves a huge question mark at backup.

From what I've heard on ESPN he supposively failed a drug test, and they had to cut him.

They haven't released the specifics yet, but apparently, his agent is claiming it wasn't cocaine. We all know that he wouldn't get cut for just marijuana, which is why so much speculation was around the drug being cocaine, but who knows?

I was surprsied as shit to hear that, but at least they picked up Vinny Testaverde in the offseason. He is old as shit too, but he is still pretty good, IMO.

Yeah he is alright, but he still isn't as good as Quincy (in my opinion)

Yeah, well, Quincy was maturing into a hell of a player. The improvements he made over the last few years are amazing. Absolutely amazing. Hopefully the substance wasn't too serious, and he didn't throw away his football career..
