Zelaron Radio

Ok... Im working on (Chruser said its cool and he wants to see it too =o) a live radio brodcast for zelaron. It will play music 24/7, and we will have a Number of people Mods/admins/whatever can go in and do a live brodcast , where they can talk on the mic live or play the music they want to. While they are not live, there will be a playlist of maybe 100-1000 songs (havent decided yet) Im about 60% done with this, (1 day got me 60% so i might be done by today or tommrow)

Also, Yeah ugn is doing something similar to this... But we might put more effort into ours *shrugs* also demi dosent care anyway so whatever...

A couple things, First what music should be brodcast? Im thinking the prefrence would be Rap/hiphop/rock/etc ? list other genres you like or just hate. Also Im not asking anyone to be a live brocaster yet or giving instructions because i dont really got it all down yet.... (If you want you can copy and paste your playlist as a reply and ill go download all those songs and put them in the rotation)

I was thinking (Havent talk to chruser bout this yet) That we make some kind of hack/addition to all themes, at the top by where it says Chat/games/etc theres 1 line under it that says Radio. IF! we are brodcasting Live, then "Radio" will blink like as if you have a PM. Also if we ever got mIRC meetings we could use this too...

Anyway , post your opinons, comments, etc...

*The radio will use WINAMP which im guessing 70% of you all have anyway so it wont be a problem, if you dont have it you can download it at www.winamp.com goto winamp then download, its not a big file.*

download some mudvayne for the radio and some eminem, try not to go to hardcore in any direction, not too soft not too hard, some techno, a wide viarety of everything i guess, some of the stuff u played today was pretty good, keep it up!

Ive got a REQUEST page setup where u can request 2 songs for the queue and they will play next, Ill say more when we do the official release

Creed, Incubus, Linkin Park, Metallica, Nelly, Nickleback, Staind, Sum 41, System of a Down, Tantric.
Got a lot more suggestions, but those are the artists who I can think of who have a lot of good songs.

Click Listen to tune in. You prolly need winamp or something similar.

Under that is the Request a song page. All 500 of the songs I currently have (Ill have 1000 tonight ). Click on the song you want itll go into queue and play next. Every ip gets 3 queues.


There will prolly be a small java chat on the page later that links into zelaron irc.

This is a test server, id like opinons and comments on how its moving along so far.

Also for DJ's. So far there is prolly 2 ways to do djing, we were planning on seeing if a couple members wanted to live dj.

First DJ mode- I give you an admin password through request a song and you can make the biggest queue you want skip over to whatever song, and if people hang out in the irc you can take requests and be the host in there.

Second DJ mode (More complicated) - I send you the plugin for winamp I have and explain everything through aim. When you wanna live dj i "Pass" the connection over to you and you start djing. You are able to talk on the mic live. There is also a feature that Any sound that you hear on speakers is brodcast so you can play your own songs I dont have or funny stuff you may have or just talk...

Anyone intrested in becoming dj in either mode, and if so which. The second one sounds more fun but if you dont plan on talking a bit on the mic then you might wanna go with number 1, plus 2 is complicated =0

With option 2 I dont need the files, you just need them when ur djing. Option 1 is when I have to have the files. But yeah you could

It works for me, but I guess your school didn't allow it for some reason.

I suggest that you post some damn... RAP and TECHNO! I cant handle the freakin' Korn and stuff!

Or make A hardcore radiostation (rock, punk, etc) and a techno/rap station since I can not handle Korn and shit...

Make it more of a TOP songs or something...

Possibly do a hardcore hour or something.... like during the school day make it like hardcore rock, and when im home, make it rap.

I cant run more then one station at 128/ks without them being very lagged and delayed taco....

I made that REQUEST page so you can Change what you want to hear, IF you wanna be a dj, Option 1? and set up 1-2 houres of just techno and rap, and call that your brodcast or dj option 2 and brodcast live with your mic (Oh wait you said your voice is to childish so i guess you wouldent)

If no one requests a song from the queue then Any song will play
(I THINK the queue is messed up atm, ill fix it when i get home)

I diddnt wanna go too hardcore any way cause not everyone here likes the same kind of music, and if i go to hardcore something certain people wont listen at all. Thats why im putting lots of music and that REQUEST Queue

Yeah read my post above about you djing, DJ option 1 is easy and all done in web browser, and u pick the music playlist for however long u want...

Dj option 2 is more when u have time on your hands and theres people on the station and you wanna do some fun stuff..

If I would be in control of the server, I'd change most of the music completely. A small playlist with great music to start off with...

well, chruser. The point of it is to make at least 90% of the people happy =p so that means i need to have 90% of all genres? But, With the dj1 and dj2 options you can sort the playlist for like 3-4 houres or however long you want and itll play that. But when no one is djing then we have Random radio, and then we have that request page, which is what i like the most. Any user can go up on the request page and queue up the next 3 songs, and after it plays 1 he gets another, Every user (Ip address) is allowed to enter 3 queues, so really 1 user could pick everything he wants forever as long as hes queuing.

How about hardcore all day and rap for an hour or something like when your at school, do that hour of rap and all the rest hardcore.
Gawd damn nobody wants to listen to your rap shit unless your 15 and younger cus you think rap is kewl, and you think it will make you a thug 4 life in skool.
