Arena: Resist Gear
Reply
Posted 2008-11-07, 08:03 AM
Anyone have any experience using resist gear in arena? Some classes have the ability to disengage themselves from combat in which they could use an addon to quickly switch gear.

Does the amount of resistence gained counter that of lost resilience?

Might be good in 2v2 or something, but in 5v5, you'd be be gimping yourself against 4 people to make yourself resistant to 1. Not worth it, IMO.

Currently arcane mages just scare the piss out of me. I don't know how efficient they will be at level 80 though. I think they might be a little less annoying seeing as we will all have around 15k health. 2v2 is where its at anyway, anything more and you're asking for trouble.

I heard frost mages are just as nasty, there really is no end to an arcane mage though. Not until they run out of mana anyway. If the mage is semi-retarded I can typically take him out with my CD's (hunter) but, without bestial wrath im dead before I can cleanse frostnova.

A well played frost mage is a force to be reckoned with, but that has always been the case.

On the other hand, any idiot can own with an arcane mage. It's definitely the mage faceroll spec. I'm keeping my mage frost. I've always been a frost mage, and will always be. I could never live without the control and survivability that I get from frost.

I've wanted a mage for sometime now, specifically fire because I did a lot of research for Tutti's mage for raiding so I felt I knew them pretty damn good. After playing footmen frenzy on wc3 for so long the troll shaman (big game hunter) is by far my favorite hero. It's caused me to wish I had a troll shaman, even if it is the worse combination, I want one!

Troll shaman isn't too bad. Trolls are pretty underrated. I've always preferred tauren shaman, myself, but trolls are good too.

Undead mage here. Fire mages can be fun for melting faces, but fire mages have been pretty gimped in PVP. I like my frost because I own PVE and I can hold my own in PVP. I AOE grinded to level my mage, most of the time.

The first time I saw an aoe grinder in Tanaris was spectacular. I couldn't believe he was taking on all of those guys at once. I leveled my paladin 1-60 Ret, then I met a paladin who showed me the ways of the tankadin, and I aoe grinded my way to 70.
