It's just a Dual Sided Saber, not a "staff" really. And for practicality, just a single sided one. But Luke's saber (EP V)

Why you want that one? I mean, Episode VI's is the actual saber he constructed to complete his training. It is bound to be better than his old one.

I was confused about the Dual Sided thing. I was also thinking of a Dual Phase lightsaber and I couldn't remember which one applied to Maul.
