This is a comment from Gabe Newell of Valve about the progress of Halflife 2. It came out on Thursday so it is a few days old. This quote has been posted on a few gaming sites already. I know we have a few Halflife 2 fans on Zelaron, so I figured I would post it just in case they haven't yet seen it. Anyway, here it is:

Gabe Newell said:
Right now we are looking at our bug numbers. Each day you fix some bugs and you find some new bugs. The net number tells you how quickly you will get to zero. At our current rate of find/fix bugs, we'll be down to zero bugs in 16 days.

Going gold is when a game is ready for shipment and sale. Let's just hope so...

I seriously doubt it, I mean look at how hype Gabe got us hyped when the game was nothing but about 2 levels and a shitload of broken textures. Bug free meaning their code is finished, yay for another game delayed over and over again.

Maybe not. Doom 3 could be the spark (or flame) that gets Valve going. With Doom 3 comming in a few days Valve should be shaking in their boots.
