When you simply close the window instead of logging out, how long does it take to log off due to inactivity?

do you have password remember on? if so u'll have to log out manually or it wont log you off for awhile

I think you're logged off on the 31st minute. I'm not positive, though.

I'm using the password memory, every time I visit the site I'm already logged in. Every time I exit, it logs me out right away I think.

No im pretty sure its not il the 31st minute like stated above. Your cookies and such leave you logged in since they are always like there/on. So the site we can say 'removes them' or "overrides them" after 31 minutes.

The site never overrides your cookies. It simply sees that you've been idle for so long that it says you're no longer online.

All the cookies do is tell the server who you are when you come back. It automatically logs you on.

That's some long ass timeout

Well, it's used for setting new threads. At times, I have exceeded this timeout while reading the material and references on one page of a thread (though this is increasingly a rarity...). This, of course, led to me losing my place in the balance of the new threads.
