While driving home yesterday from a 13-hour stint of work, I remembered the cars from the movie Minority Report, and thought of how they drove themselves.

If the trend coming up in the future were cars that drove themselves, there certainly would the addition of various amenities that could be placed in such like a shower and whatnot (so you could shower on the way to work) and whatnot, and simply realized that I ended up with a RV.

My question would be, do you think if the trend went this way, do you honestly think that a fair share of people would skip buying a house, and just have a very nice RV, or do you think that people would still maintain a homestead?

Also, do you think this would be advantageous to the country, or detrimental?

Place your vote in the Poll, and please explain your vote.

I think most would stick with a house, and if they didn't... WOW gas issues, but this is the future of course, so who knows. And it would wreck all sorts of things, like school district stuff. I dunno, confusing.

This would be far in the future, we'd likely have exhausted our source of fossil fuels. Assume that is a "non-issue".

Also, as far as school goes, it is entirely possible that it could all be done mainly via Distance Learning. I personally think that would be the way they'd go, as the state would likely rather be paying for a handful of teachers vs. many teachers per school.

I just read Fahrenheit 451 for school and this thread reminds me of it, a lot. Anyways, I'd go with the RV. Just the thought of it is pretty cool.
