Post Battle! Ninja vs. Samus

Posted 2003-10-25, 12:00 PM
Arena: Stygian Depths

In the Red Corner, the cybernetic chameleon, the psychotic assassin, from Metal Gear Solid: The Ninja!!!

And in the Blue Corner, the Power Armored Chozo Defender, the interstellar bounty hunter, from Metroid: Samus Aran!!!

Red-hot magma bursts from the depths of the fire-cavern, blazing the stone walls and blackening the very air. Immense heat distorts the cavern's interior, giving it a warped, hellish appearance. The stealthy cyborg skulks through the winding passageways, nearly invisible to the naked eye. The armored bounty hunter stands on the central platform, awaiting the arrival of her prey. She switches on her X-Ray visor and catches a glimpse of a humanoid figure approaching her with startling speed. Metal clashes against metal, missiles fly into the cavern walls. Who will be victorious? You decide...

Well she relies on her fire arms. Gray's cyborg powers make him virtually invulnarable to attacks. Not to mention his super speed, and STEALTH power. SaMUS WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HIT HIM.

You're using his "bullet deflection" abilites as reference for your argument. Missiles and energy weapons are a different story.

Oh, well he still has that stealth abillity. He can dodge the misiles. It would be dificult, but with his cyborg body, just being grazed by it would cause litle damage.

Hmm...I'll let someone else continue with this one. If this doesn't get any action after a day or two, I'll step back in.

Wow, I'm suprised at this one. These are too fairly popular characters.

I assume that it's because we have multiple battles going on at once. Maybe I'll have to can this setup in the future.

No, I like this setup. I honestly don't think Ninja would be able to hurt Samus. Ninja wouldn't be able to sneak up on Samus either, since she can scan all her surroundings very well. Her arsenal is just too overwhelming for Ninja.

Hum since there aint much activity here i guess im gonna step in

Well i would have to Disagree on that while Samus is having very good weapon the point is it wont hit or wont be direct hit. It would totaly miss, hit the ground near whit ground explosion causing scratch nothing more or maybe touch a part of the body but nothing great. A little before he get into melee range he would take out a E/M Hand Grenade and pull the pin, once he get in melee Samus is kinda useless, whatever samus try to do there is only one thing that gonna happen hes gonna throw the E/M Hand Grenade that will render temp. useless mostly everything of Samus suit all there is left to do is pull out the rocket laucher and destroy Samus.

Game over.

The Ninja: Hum an arm. I wonder where there rest of the body is.

E/M grenades would only render her visor useless. She encounters E/M interferecne frequently in Metroid Prime, and both her shields and weapons still function. She just wouldn't be able to use her visors or her lock-on for about three seconds.

He never even used E/M Grendades. He uses his sword, advanced armor and super-speed. She couldn't hit him with his speed. It would take time to aim and in that second or so, he could be twenty feet away from the spot she was aiming at.

Either way, it doesn't matter much. Samus could just use the Ice Spreader (a large area attack) to freeze his ass and then fucking obliterate him. That doen't work? Use Power Bombs if he gets anywhere near her. He'll be hard-pressed to hit her in ball form because she's a much smaller target and her mobility is much better.

Plus, her lock-on negates a lot of his speed advantages. Meta-Ridley (From Metroid Prime) exhibits the same level of speed as The Ninja does, and she's more than capable of hitting him at a distance. Up close is a bit different, but then there's always the Morph Ball defense.

The big difference between these two is that Samus has an energy shield protecting her suit from any damage. The Ninja relies entirely upon speed to avoid damage, therefore he's at a bit of a disadvantage if he gets hit. He would need to get close to her in order to use his sword, and he would need to slow down a bit in order to use his gun-arm. Either one of those strategies has holes in them, considering I've already mentioned her tactics for both situations. Ninja goes down either way.

*Bump*

I want to see if any more action can be harvested from this battle before it needs to be closed.

This one is pretty tough. Two speedy characters who have mastered their respective weapons. Samus with projectiles and the Ninja with his ultra high-frequency super-sharp katana. Surely his blade could slice through Samus' armor with ease. Alternately, Samus' weapons are all energy weapons or missiles so the Ninja cannot deflect them ( with the exception of a tricky slicing of the missile's directioning system which I've only seen Shinobi do ).

I can't give a decision on this one, it's too good.
