Post State of the project, as it were
Reply

Well, so far, we have lots of ideas, we have a server, we have a programmer (me), and we are building the foundations of the code.

So far I have written our own database abstraction class and have done limited testing of it by using it to validate logon cookies for vB.

I have been thinking about and researching a template system that I plan to start creating over the weekend.

This project seems pretty interasting, and amazing that you could manage setting this all up! Just wondering, what are you planning on including in the portal? Codes? News...?

As far as the project goes, IÂ’m willing to throw in more money for this specific project over a set course. Such as domain registration and any other fees it may hold. I can also help recruit/look into potential hosted site admins with their background, experience and such. If we are going the way I think we are going (Which is great cause WW decided to step the project up and let us all take it more seriously) I can help out in various different ways. I can also do some advertising so (Public Relations/Advertising). IÂ’m not such a "Silly" "Unorganized" "Poor grammar" person when I take something seriously. So im up for it As I said I was in the meeting a while ago when I brought this topic/idea up =0

Yeah, just don't go talking about it just yet. The time scale is months before this is ready for prime time, though I see some foundation tech tests/demos up soon for focus group members.

Yea, I am up for it too. I can do whatever you ask me to do. I can manage the D2 site probably if you need me to. Hmmm.... We have to think about what sites we want to create...

While that should be taken into consideration, we aren't really even close to starting any sites with this.

At least we (or at least I) got full access to the server.

What's the difference? It's not as if you actually understand the SQL I'll be giving you. I could probably pass you an SQL command to remove all other users from the SQL server and you'd execute it . He should have just given me access too. Oh well, as long as we can do what needs to be done.

/chruser pwned by wetwired.... .

Anyways, Id be willing to work on the mainpage (an IGN-like portal is what im understanding now) and try to keep up some hosted pages too... heh...

Oh, and on the main page I suggest we do a kind of ticker thing that will grab the news from all the hosted sites we have... that would be interasting...

Well, good luck.
