True, but with America being America, and this being a community of gamers, I'd have thought that most people, if not everyone, would be on broadband, with a minority being on something faster than 8mb.

On the go, I only get like 360kb/s from my cellular modem.

I don't know much about the mainland's connections (Chruser should, though), but I do know that most people over here are only on 1mb. The majority of phone lines will be able to get 4mb. Those in cities can easily get 8mb, as can some parts of the country. Big businesses will be on ADSL2+ and be able to get up to 24mb if they are near the exchange, though it's more realistic to say they'll be getting around 18mb.
