Question

If I was to cancel my wow subscrip, how long would they keep my chars for? I currently am tired of the game and plan to take a break. Don't feel like wasting 16 a month :-\ (theres tax here!)

I think they keep them for a good long while. I wouldn't worry about it.

They said that currently there is no character deletion policy in place and that they would warn us before starting any such policy. I doubt that there will be any change to this untill people seem to be satisfied with the server performance (since they want as much encouragment as possible for people to come back once that happens).

I don't know about Blizzard, but with UO and EQ, they're (damn near?) permanant. I quit UO for over 18 months, came back, and still had all my characters and shiz (sans house). EQ the same story, but it was only about 8 or 10 months.

Blizzard did get delete-happy with Diablo, though, so I don't know what kind of comparison you can make. I'd trust that they'd just leave them there, at least for the time being.

Diablo was not pay to play.
