Neighbor's House On Fire
Reply
Posted 2004-07-17, 12:21 AM
Alright, on July 15th at like 4:00 am (I was sleeping, slept through it) my neighbor's kitchen started on fire. My dad woke up, and watched it flaring up, the firefighters were already there, spraying it down, going inside trying to find people. All of them escaped on the front second level porch. The interior of the house was/is completely ruined, and the back porch is scorched and ruined. Not too mention we had a tree in our lawn. Luckily, our cars were not in the way of the fire trucks (parked them in the back, we rarely do). Something in the kitchen must've been left on, the family says they were sleeping. The girl who is my age was in shock, just watching the embers of the fire. THey manage to stop the fire at around 7:00am. I wake up, say hey to my dad, and he goes "Look outside at our neighbor's." So I do, and I'm whispering to myself "What the fuck?" as I look in sheer confusion as i see the charred house. I helped move a few things out, but otherwise stayed away from it, the mere smell of burnt plastic makes me gag still.

They were in so much shock and fear. My mom let them use our bathroom and got them water/coffee. Luckily they have family in town and can stay there for now, but the place is totaled on the inside.

That would be terrible to happen. Even with insurance you lose memories, valuables, stuff that is close to you, everything. I feel sorry for them and its good that no one was hurt.

I was coming back from the movies about 4 weeks ago and I saw a flame coming out of the window from this guy's house down my road, me and my buddy called 911 and they showed up a while later.

But what sucks for the dude living there was his mother had passed away like two weeks before, and he was on a cruise just trying to recooperate himself, and now his house burns down, very tragic.
