Here's a better question. Instead of asking why is or isn't it wrong, but why not focus on the 3-4billion other females or males on this Earth, instead on focusing on the 10-15 in your intermediate family.

Yea, but then you could argue that you can get to know your family members more easily, and therefore develop stronger relationships.
