We should unite and threaten Blizzard with a lawsuit if they don't decide to remove their dupe scans. Here's an example of something we could post in their forums:

I heard a rumor from a guy that you could actually lose a char in HC permanently.
I took my lvl 34 Necro and got him killed in HC just to test it, and now I can't play him at all!
Blizzard, please fix this bug! I've spent over 8 hours on him, and I want him back!
I read the ToS three times, and it said nothing about losing a char permanently, so bring him back, or I'll sue!
