The time has come where I am almost ready to upgrade. But not in the sense of my laptop, no, I plan on starting from scratch with a new tower. I plan to keep this build under $500, and I don't think I will have any issues.

First off, i'm looking for speed. This new computer is going to be used for large amounts of storage, my 'media center', as well as the oh-wonderful gaming. It's a pre-emptive Diablo 3/Starcraft 2 build. I've been currently browsing through barebone kits and have a couple narrowed down on www.tigerdirect.com ..
