I don't know if you could technically say they are getting worse, so much as there is such an over abundance of [shitty] games that the few good games that come out by the solid companies are merely being over shadowed.
I mean, typically the same few companies are solid at releasing games, but you have such a large market of developers now that release games that the market has become flooded with lower quality games by studios with little cash trying to draw income, that they have less resources and a stricter deadline to meet.
Look at SE, Kojima, etc who delay release until they are satisfied with the product verses those that release faulty products and either leave it or patch it later.
So yea....enough of me....
