Birth Control Pill—offers continuous yet reversible protection against unwanted pregnancy. The pill also offers relief from irregular periods and protects against ovarian and endometrial cancer as well as infections of the fallopian tubes. Drawbacks to using the pill are that you have to remember to take it daily and that it does not offer protection from STI’s. Women who smoke should not take the pill. The birth control pill is 95–99.9% effective.

Condom—offers good protection against STI’s, is inexpensive and available over the counter. Condoms may break if not used correctly and may interfere with spontaneity. The condom is 86–97% effective if used correctly.
