Hey, mania, you migth wana read this (aka ZZangDreamP)
Hotkeying is quite a hard thing to do. Ive seen ur replay mania, you lack hotkeys, like any brood war players. I would say about only 300 players, top, use hotkeys correctly, and do about 20/50% of those. Either way its prety hard. the thing is, hotkey is the key of getting high apm = high reaction time. Now, Do not, I repeat do not assign a hotkey for 1 specific building, that is bad, if u ever change race, ur either screwed or gota relearn all ur hotkeys. Its pretty simple what you should do.
heres my way.
1:building
2:unit
3:building
4:unit
5:building
6:unit
7:building
8: either unit or expo
9: expo
10: expo.

Usualy, when im protoss, i use 3 for my nexus, 1 for pylon then gateway, 2 for scouting probe, and it never goes idle -.- as you know, 4 for any units like my goonz or zeal, if my probe isnt dead, 5 for my robotik and so on the thing is, the important part of this is that you dont assign useless hotkeys. lets say u have 2 gates, they should be around same spot so that you hotkey just 1 double type the hotkey so the screen goes there, and select the 2 gate to bulid the unit(with the hotkey button of course(building unit that is)) then you just go back to where ur microing, this shouldnt take more then a split second.

when im zerg, i just take 1 for hatch.
So basicly its simple, you just gota put simlilaraties through ur hotkeys, but never assign a building aka for me its just 1 for buliding any kind of unit and 3 for buildings that make scv/probe -.- wait thats called a cc and a nexus. Well thats about all there is to say about hotkeys. Oh yeah, when you have 20% hotkeys, if your good, you should have over 160 apm. I got about 180 w/ 25% Any how, do not do useless click during game to higher ur apm. that is extremly dumb, and it will disimprove your gaming skillz.
