You probably hit F9. That brings up your switch/variable menu, which is REALLY useful when testing. Hit left or right to switch between variables and switches. You can set whatever state/value you want.

To exit, hit ESC - that'll take you back to the game. If that doesn't work, post that it doesn't and I'll try to help again.
