Enternal darkness
:O(Is Enternal Darkness any good? I saw only a few screen shots and the graphics looked but is the game any good. And what about the replay value?:O(
I think it is gonna be real good.
Actually, the game has been out since June, James.
ED is amazing. It takes about 40 to 45 hours to complete it entirely. The graphics, sound and gameplay are all damn near flawless. The magic system is one of the coolest I have ever seen, and the after-effects of this game will fuck you up for weeks. |

2. This is funny for 2 reasons, ED is the initials of sir dennis' real name, and 2, it sounded like you enjoyed having erictile difficulties. Dont take #2 the wrong way. What its the basic story about? |
Okay...if you've got the patience, here's a basic summary.
Millions upon millions of years before any sort of life on planet Earth (that we know of) spawned in the oceans, a race of creatures called "The Ancients" inhabited our planet. Over the course of their species history, they through their arrogance and the approach of new life on the planet, were eventually cut down in number until only four of them remained. As time went by, the four remaining Ancients found that they could no longer survive on Earth, and hid themselves away in an alternate dimension, hoping to return when the planet became suitable for their existence again. So, skip forward to the year 2002. Alexandra Roivas, a college student in Rhode Island, gets a call form the police late one night that she has to hurry to her grandfather's mansion as quickly as possible. When she arrives, she finds that her grandfather, Dr. Edward Roivas has been murdered in a particularly brutal fashion. She, infuriated with the local police force's incompetence, refuses to leave the mansion until either she or the police discover the identity of the murderer. While exploring the mansion, she comes across a secret study of Edward's, and finds a large book lying on his desk. The book is bound in human flesh, bone and sinew and is called The Tome Of Eternal Darkness. As she reads through the book, she learns of the history of the Ancients, as well as a horrible creature who has spent 2000 years trying to restore the Ancients' control over the planet. I'm not going to give you any more than that. If I did, it would ruin the plot. The game takes place over a span of 2000 years, with 12 playable characters. It is a very heavily story driven game, and is probably the darkest, most depressing game I have ever played. I loved every second of it. |
Man, that sounds sweet!
yea, and the sanity effects are cool too
The sanity gauge is one of the coolest concepts ever introduced into a game. Every time you encounter an enemy (which all happen to be supernatural monsters like zombies and little gremlin creatures that possess people's bodies) your character's sanity takes damage, causing all kinds of weird shit to happen. If your meter runs out entirely it literally bcomes impossible to tell whether or not the things happening around you are real or imaginary. And many of the effects are genuinely frightening.
yea, like walking on the ceiling or suddenly dieing
Sssshhh...don't ruin it for those who haven't played it.
Wow, that sounds really good.
Some of the sanity effects are funny. (Not that this is spoilage or anything, but one of them is where you'll end up with a lot of monsters in the room, but they're not bothering you they're fighting each other... but they're all about 4 inches tall. :D I cracked up and just watched.)
Looks good i might get it
Who is making the game.
The game already exists, dude. Silicon Knights made it. They're the same people that made the original Blood Omen on PSX.
I never ment to put that in the past tense
