Playstation 2= Weapon of mass destruction?

seen this somewhere on the net....

US defence experts are investigating claims that Saddam Hussein is building a weapons supercomputer from Sony PlayStation 2s.

Individual units of the powerful games console can be linked up and boosted so their computing powers can be used to design long-range missiles or even nuclear devices.

The news confirms the worst fears of the Japanese government which first warned of the potential danger of the high specification PlayStation eight months ago.

A leaked US Defence Intelligence Agency report now confirms that up to 4,000 of the consoles have been bought and shipped to Iraq in the last three months.

Experts say that the PlayStation 2 designers may have unwittingly built a machine ideal for weapons work because its technology is so advanced.

One source told WorldNet Daily: "Applications for this system are potentially frightening. One expert I spoke with estimated that an integrated bundle of 12 to 15 PlayStations could provide enough power to control an Iraqi unmanned aerial vehicle."

Those are old news, but it's still a lesson to us all. At least if we're planning on ever making consoles.

sure hes not just linking them all together to make a very powerfull porn simulation?

Saddam: "Ah ha! I finally got some of the evil devil technology! I could build huge weapons with such an advanced machine!"

I love the fact that what Saddam thinks is an advanced military computing system, we consider a children's toy..

Jamesadin 2002-09-25 08:02 PM

No, weve been fighting over which console is better for almost a year at this forum, and I can sense another one starting.

And please dont intice me.

JiN-RaiDeN 2002-09-25 08:08 PM

Haha. Oh I see. I dunno dood. I'm definitely going to post this if anyone hasn't beat me to it. But things are looking gloomy in the Nintendo camp. If you haven't read already... Rare is gone. They're giving head to Bill Gates now. Microsoft bought 'em. If this is old news sorry. I'm busy with school, so I get to everything about a week late.

Well, Rare is gone, but that doesnt nesecarrily mean the whole company is gone. But, yes, it is looking quite glommy for Nintendo.

JiN-RaiDeN 2002-09-29 04:05 AM
