Gran Turismo 5 Playstation 3 Error

Okay here's how everything has gone down.

I bought and pre-loaded Gran Turismo 5 the second day after it came out. Updated the game that same day and proceded to play over the next two days for roughly 5-6 hours overall, off-and-on. A good amount of playing time. Nothing seemingly has gone wrong until the next patch was released. It was roughly a 130mb patch I believe and I left the playstation on a while to download it and install; However, when I go to play afterwards I started getting hard-drive issues and the playstation was acting very funny. It was freezing up on the GT5 load screen and is telling me I need to delete everything that was saved.

Now, I need to figure out what to do. I know I could delete and start from scratch but that's bullshit. I'm basically making this thread because I'm sure there are other people out there who could be, or are having similar issues.

I'll update this thread with error codes later tonight, and hopefully the solution to this problem can be found relatively soon. It's very frustrating to say the least.

Is your harddrive completely fucked? As in you can't play other games.. or is it strictly against GT5?

You know, I haven't even checked that yet. I was going to when I got home but I haven't even messed with the PS3 since it started to act up. I'm thinking the HD could still be fine, which is where you're going, and it really could just be a patching issue which would need a delete/reinstall and I could be exaggerating the problem like a typical noob. Damn. We'll see though.

Once there's blood in your urine it's really time to be concerned.

I wiped the game's saved data from the harddrive and started over. Seems to be working fine now, so I'm assuming the patch was probably just corrupted on the download and fucked something along the line. I've been out of town for a week so maybe this weekend i'll have a chance to get back into the game and see if I can play without having any more errors.
