Not sure if any of you have ever played the game, but I've recently started back up again. I'd gone through the gnomish mines, the character specific quest and had descended to Medusa's lair. I was currently making my way back up to Sokoban to try and find an amulet of reflection, and, save that would have hoped for a shield of reflection from somewhere in Medusa's lair. Reflection, if you don't know, would have saved my ass from the wand of death that was zapped at me - the second high level character that has happened to before I could attain reflection or resistance.

I've heard it mentioned before, but never played it. It looks interesting, though, and seeing as I have almost a month without any deadlines coming up, I'll give it a shot.

Just don't discouraged by the number of times you will die when you first start
