Who wants to be a Millionaire - What rotates around the moon?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I thought this was funny as shit.
It makes me wonder if this was a joke, or the world is that retarded.

What rotates around the moon?

Chruser 2008-10-03 12:14 AM

Actually, his four options all presented correct answers, depending on your frame of reference. Common sense may, in part due its presumed value in the fields of academia and psychometric testing, make us value the "obvious", which is by no means exhaustive per se.

Jessifer 2008-10-03 08:48 AM

Do you think he's caught on yet?

D3V 2008-10-03 08:54 AM

I'm lost on the question. Is it what rotates around the Earth or Moon. WTF

Jessifer 2008-10-03 08:56 AM

[10:48] Jessifer: Dev! Answer me a question!
[10:48] D3V: sup
[10:48] Jessifer: WHAT...
[10:48] D3V: does it have to do with smurfs?
[10:49] Jessifer: ...Rotates around the MOON!
[10:49] Jessifer: GO!
[10:49] D3V: what what
[10:49] D3V: around the MOON?
[10:49] Jessifer: Around the MOON!
[10:49] D3V: thats a good question
[10:49] Jessifer: Is it...this is multiple choice.
[10:49] D3V: nothing, rocks and shit
[10:49] Jessifer: The MOON, The SUN, VENUS, or MARS?
[10:50] D3V: wait the moon rotates around the moon?
[10:50] D3V: which moon?
[10:50] D3V: our moon?
[10:50] D3V: WTF
[10:50] Jessifer: Answer the question!
[10:50] D3V: I can't
[10:51] D3V: none of those are right
[10:51] Jessifer: WRONG! The answer is the SUN!
[10:51] Jessifer: You ARE the weakest link! GOODBYE!
[10:51] D3V: how

Thanatos 2008-10-03 09:30 AM

I lol'ed.

Don't confuse D3V, he might have an anuerysm

D3V 2008-10-03 10:41 AM

That's fucked up. It was early at the time. I thought that she was being serious, and I didn't k now why. Even better I watched the video and was still like W-T-F. It only occured to me right as she told me what was up that Swallows made a thread with the wrong word, hardy-har.

Jessifer 2008-10-03 10:47 AM

You amuse me, Dev. :P

WetWired 2008-10-03 11:56 AM

Actually, the Sun most certainly does rotate arround the Earth. In the same way, we can know that planets exist in far star systems, by observing the way that the planets make the stars orbit. Even so, the moon is clearly influenced to the greater degree here.

I suspect, though, that it could be the audience rewarding him for being a retard (i.e. they know better, they just want him to lose)

Actually, I remember hearing somewhere that America is the only country where the audience actually tries to help. In the other countries the audience purposely gives wrong answers...

As for him, all I can say is maybe the stress got to him?

And I was hoping it was a Sarah Palin video... I didn't even see who started the thread... :(

kyeruu 2008-10-04 01:19 AM

What a moron.

sure it was stressic and stuff, but seriously, the moon goes around the earth, they fucking teach you that in 5th grade for gods sakes!

PureRebel 2008-10-04 04:32 AM

hahahaha. i think a 12 year old would have a better shot at the million dollars than this guy.

Jessifer 2008-10-04 09:51 AM

My neice knew that answer when she was in the first grade.

Kazilla 2008-10-04 04:27 PM

Are you smarter then a 5th grader?

Wallow 2008-10-04 05:07 PM

That show is supremely gay and totally rigged

The sun definitely does not rotate around the sun from any proper reference frame. I suppose from a two-dimensional perspective you could make the argument for the others in the same as a satellite revolving around an airplane...

You are the weakest link. Goodbye.
