Nominate a new Supreme Moderator

Considering the fact that Lenny and I live in Europe, it will be preferable if the new Supreme Moderator lives in the Americas due to time zone differences (and consequently, additional, active protection from spam bots).

Anyway, nominate up to three members for the available Supreme Moderator position. The decisive vote will be held in equally many days from now, or tomorrow if this thread is dead by then.

EDIT: It's okay to nominate yourself.

Current list of nominations:

D3V
Draco2003
jamer123
Jessifer
Kazilla
kyeruu
Sebarak
-Spector-
Thanatos
WKFF

Wow, great call Chruser.

This is actually a very hard call. Weighing in that you must be fair and levelheaded there aren't too many normal members that posess this quality not to let their emotions get in front of their Judgement.

I'd like to nominate Draco2003. For various reasons, he doesn't take sides and tries to solve problems without perpetuating them. Maybe a little more activity out of him would be great, but he helps the boards out before he hurts them.

Thanatos would be another good choice just because of his longetivity and I feel that he is pretty fair and balanced and would be a good polar-opposite of K_A to keep these boards in alignment. Not even because I agree with him on most everything, but just the fact that he would be a good rep for Zel, and keep shit in line, and on track.

I think there should also be another thread for News Posters to once again be nominated, possibly two more News Posters to keep these forums up to date on 'Current Events'.

And I would nominate myself, but I would imagine it's against the rules, but i'd rather have unanimous agreement in this.

jamer123 2008-09-11 01:38 PM

i nominate d3v because hes helped me all the time he was there before he got banned and he be a big help to any new members that want help and i nominate myself because i know whats right and ill keep the forums ballence

Thanatos 2008-09-11 01:40 PM

Besides myself, I think WKFF would make a good mod.

If you want spambot protection then i'd be your man. I dont have the intelligence of you or Lenny, but what i do have is no life ;) I could sit here all day deleting spam messages. When it came down to someone actually moderating a post Lenny is around to straight that out, and im not all that bad just when personal things get into the mix. But yea spam protection? I'm who your looking for.

Once we get a good amount of feedback, I'll (or if one of the mods wants to) tally up the results and post the winner. Then Chruser I guess decides who will be the new supreme mod.
As for my nomination, I'll vote for WKFF. He's an all around great guy, and pretty stable (except for sudden outbursts of immaturity).

D3V 2008-09-11 01:46 PM

I would be happy to be a Mod, but i'm not going to ask or beg for it. I'd rather have the community decide who they want, rather than to have a campaign about it. The track record is pretty clear for every member in here, I think as long as this person(s) is fair and balanced then there shouldn't be a problem.

And WKFF would be okay in my book as well, I look at it though of how often somebody is on, and would be able to deal with problems ASAP rather than a few days later, which is what happens sometimes when peoples busy schedule gets in the way.

Thanatos 2008-09-11 01:49 PM

D3V nominates Barack Obama.

Thanatos, -Spector-, or Jessifer.

Isn't Spector already in some sort of position as Moderator? I haven't seen much from him using his "powers" towards any good, I mean what has he done so far as a moderator? There isn't much of anything I can see from a small handful of Diablo related threads in his section, but nothing much has changed.

I'd just like to just say, look at who has actually made good changes or suggestions for these boards and who hasn't. It's pretty easy to just narrow down anything that does work good here or has helped out activity and board morale.. If they haven't done shit, what makes you think nominating them a Sup Mod will change anything?

Should be the basis of who gets it, we got rid of Yawgmoth for his inactivity and would make no sence to appoint another inactive member.

Moderators can't do much of anything anyway. And besides, this isn't a "debate who should be moderator" thread.

Yes, I am a moderator but only of the Diablo II section. That's why you haven't seen me moderating in other sections of the forum. ;)

:Edit: Though already nominated, I choose WKFF.

I'd say WKFF or Thanatos.

And, for your consideration, I'm on all the time (seriously, I'm up til five and refresh zelaron ever couple minutes) and have no bias towards anyone anymore (if ever. Kazilla was on the list, but he's cool now.)

Yes, but I'm saying what good has come from it? About 4-5 threads and no activity. Thanks but no thanks. I'm saying is that if he is nominated for a Sup Mod what makes you think anything will be any different from the rest of the forum? If he can't help out that small section, the rest of the boards would make it even harder.

My second nomination has to be Draco2003. Good guy, not biased, neutral in every one's opinion.

jamer123 2008-09-11 02:04 PM

ka that was just a waste of a post

D3V 2008-09-11 02:07 PM

Don't be immature K_A. I"m not saying he shouldn't be demodded from his Mod spot, but just not nominated as a Sup Mod being that he hasn't done much to show anything positive, l2read.

Alright, so don't nominate him. This isn't a thread to debate why or why not to make someone a supreme mod.
