Lockpicking
 

I taught myself to lockpick through internet tutorial videos, internet articles, and video games. I'm going to buy a set for myself at a local spy shop. Anyone else here know anything cool similar to this or anything about lockpicking? I need to learn some new skills.

I used to be into lockpicking, but I rarely had a use for it other than entertaining myself. I keep a set handy in case I ever need it.

Lockpicking is fun for small amusement. I learned how to do it about 5-years. The reason I taught myself it was so that I could unlock my school locker which I had lost the combination to. Master locks aren't fun to start with, however, I started trying to pick-lock a Master lock first. Didn't succeed, might I add. So I went on and tried some easier locks and succeeded, then learned though the internet how locks actually work, after that I went on and tried to pick-lock a master lock. I failed, it was the hardest piece of lock to pick open. Okay, on and on I went though the school year and finally I was able to open a one Master lock! After that I went, during a busy time, to my locker and managed to pick it in around 9-minutes. Success! Now, I haven't tried to pick much since then, but it is fun to try that if I ever get that bored.

Now, I should mention that I used house-hold materials, not bought goodies made for pick-locking. I made my own with oven heat to thin metal and etc. Let me just say, "Not Fun."

I've managed to open a high quality bike lock with paper clips actually a few times. Not as hard as you'd think and if i ever try my door and suceed I will be scared to death because i will have managed to open it with 2 mere paper clips.

something similar happened to me when i used to study engineering at college once apon a time, i looked at internet videos, and made my tools out of a couple of broken hacksaw blades, eventually got my old uniform and $500 toolkit out of my broken locker. good fun XD

I can pick every lock in my house with this small screwdriver I keep in my desk. Everytime someone accidentally locks themselves out of a room I have to open it.

Never picked an actual bike lock or anything like that.
