What Zelaron was like in 2004!

In case you weren't here in 2004, here is a look at what Zelaron looked like back then!

It's quite interesting how it changed since then.

: D oh god

That looks so exciting, we should really be more diverse like the forums were back then.

The setup [we have now] is kind of unexciting comparatively.

Coffeedagger 2008-05-04 07:39 AM

I really like the set up from back then! Some of the forum sections were really cool looking. I hope some older sections get brought back.

Goodlookinguy 2008-05-04 07:44 AM

I completely and I think a lot of people as well will agree with the people I'm agreeing with that the old setup was nice.

Gods, that's a blast from the past!

I can't remember exactly when it was, but the new layout (which is what we have now) is from when Grav was an Admin and gravitised the forums.

There's one from October 11th - 11 days after I'd joined. You'll even find a thread by me if you look closely. :D

http://web.archive.org/web/200408041...ron.com/forum/

Look at the difference between Aug 4th and October 11th.

You start to see difference as you go through 2005, but it's not until June 18th, 2006, that you see the new Gravitised layout:

http://web.archive.org/web/200606142...ron.com/forum/

And then throughout 2007 you see the odd forum changing name, or a new one being added in.

Cor, the nostalgia is hitting now! :p

---

I'm in the other boat - whilst I did like the old setup, and got quite used it, I prefer the new one. For one, there are fewer forums to have to scroll through, and for someone who, at the time, didn't post in any other than the general chat forums, the others got a bit annoying, particularly when I wanted to get to the RPG Maker forum at the bottom of the page. :p

One thing I will say, though - bring back "Mark Forums Read" in the top bar! Pwetty pwease?

Goodlookinguy 2008-05-04 09:12 AM

I looked around hard on that website and stumbled upon what I think is the old activity charts page.

I miss the conspiracy forum. I guess everything now is restructued for the best.

Wallow 2008-05-04 10:06 AM

Yeah, but some of the old topics to talk about seem very interesting.

!King_Amazon! 2008-05-04 10:12 AM

If you look at the last post dates in that archive, you'll see that most of those forums were pretty inactive. That's why we tried to move away from having a separate forum for everything.

D3V 2008-05-04 10:13 AM

That is an excellent point. It's just odd, there are just far less active members than before which is why activity has drown down.

!King_Amazon! 2008-05-04 10:25 AM

You could probably correlate the decline in activity with the decline in Diablo 2 players. Back when we were a Diablo 2 hacking community, we constantly had members coming in.

WetWired 2008-05-04 12:36 PM

Mark forums read is in the quick links.

KagomJack 2008-05-04 02:09 PM

I remember spamming up the Conspiracy forum.

Thanatos 2008-05-05 09:13 AM

I was 17 then? Man, what a noob.

Hell, that Warcraft Maphack page still has tons of Guests viewing it every damn day. And you've got a point, hell that's how I found Zelaron, was looking for Diablo 2 hacks.

!King_Amazon! 2008-05-05 10:54 AM

Yeah, but that maphack doesn't work, and even if it did, it's a no-brainer to set up.

Most of the new members we got back then were people trying to learn how to get the bots and such to work. That's what I originally came here for, and I ended up sticking around to help other people set them up and chit chat with everyone else here. I don't think I went outside of the D2 forum until I had been here for about a month.

D3V 2008-05-05 11:08 AM

Ah yes, Pindlebot, ROFL!

KagomJack 2008-05-05 08:07 PM

Man, I was 16. :/
