Double dick.

My school's IT department is the fucking Gestapo. They've blocked every single forum, game site, personal site, webhost, and miscellaneous thing that exists, and to boot, they've blocked any action offline, too. You can't right-click on folders, the desktop, files or the start menu, you can't access Task Manager, you can't adjust the taskbar.

Finally, I got portable Firefox on my flash drive, and I was using that (apparently the filters still applied to FF ;_;), also, I couldn't use ChatZilla for IRC because all IRC ports are completely blocked. Today I start up my U3 launchpad, click on Firefox, and it won't launch. Fucking perfect.

So now I'm stuck using secure proxies (which can't be blocked, although they've blocked every http proxy known to fucking man) on IE7, with my history logged as well as all my cookies. Which is fucktastic because now all my passwords and cookies were saved in Firefox (which was convenient), and now I can't do that. But now every time I log into a site, my password and login is saved to the school computer. Which means that whoever uses my computer after me will be logged into my e-mail, forums, and everything else. Can't clear my history or cookies (like I could in FF).

On top of that, they have a fucktarded remote-access program which they can use to take control of my computer (can't move the mouse, type, anything). Of course, they don't use it very often, but I remember one time where I was trying to log out of Yahoo mail, and they kept remote-shutting it down, so I had to start it up, log on to my username, start up IE, and log into Yahoo so I could log out properly, but before I could log out, they shut it down, and this happened 5 times before I just pulled the plug on the back of my computer and walked away.

Thanks a fucking lot, IT staff. I now hate you with the burning passion of 1001 blazing suns (I used to only hate you with the burning passion of 1000 blazing suns).

Most schools have the same sort of measures in place.

Mine has a particular one that shuts down the computer if the words "slime", "linerider", "freekick" and others are found in a web page. They're all the names of games, if you don't know.

So we all had a bit of fun sending e-mails to each other containing those words.

I'm one of a few that uses a browser built in VB6 now, rather than IE6, upon which the word filters are placed.

Lolwut? "Slime" is a commonly used word. It shuts down the computer?!

My filter blocks any web page if the URL contains "proxy", "myspace", or any other word related to such things. Seriously. Half the blocked websites on Websense are only blocked because they relate to circumventing the filter; ergo they would not exist if Websense didn't exist, ergo they are creating a problem, solving it, and calling themselves heroes, ERGO they are all fucking bastards who need to burn in Hell.

Why don't you just click "Do not save password" when the box pops up?

I wish my computer would always keeped me logged in automatically, it would save several seconds here and there..

People keep on playing "slime soccer", and various other "slime sports" games. So the network nazis thought that the best way to stop this would be to close the webpage everytime the word slime popped up, thinking that students could not use any other browsers without installing them.

Just do shit to get back at them. It won't change anything but it will probably make you feel better.

For instance, run around unplugging one random piece of hardware from every computer you see(mouse on one computer, keyboard on another, monitor on another, etc.) The IT guys will get so many calls from dumbasses who don't know how to use a computer and they will go nuts.

I've also heard you can take a floppy disk apart and put gunpowder in it and put it back together and when you put it in the computer and it starts reading it will explode in the computer. Perhaps make a few of those and stick them in random shut down computers throughout the school so when the computers get turned on and start reading the floppies, they explode.

Really, I'd just start doing stuff like that. Maybe not quite as entertaining as surfing the internet, but it could fill a bit of that void.

Yeah, bringing explosives to school is your bet in the year 2007.

OH YES, WHY WHAT A PERFECTLY GREAT IDEA, LET'S BRING EXPLOSIVES TO SCHOOL AND PUT THEM INSIDE THE HARDWARE. NOBODY WILL EVER GUESS WHO IT WAS AND I CERTAINLY WON'T GET EXPELLED FOR TERRORISM.

I prefer magnets. They work better.
