According to legend this monk was about to be walled up inside of the monestary, so in a bargain not to, he said he'd create a book that contained all the knowledge of time as well as the Bible and the lessons of the Monestary. He was troubled to do so, so he sold his soul to the devil to complete it.

It is a very fascinating story at that. I love reading and hearing about these sorts of things. I'd love to get my hands on the book though and have it translated. It'd be quite an interesting read.
