The Alphabet Of Manliness by Maddox
 

Well, being a fan of Maddox(see here,) I decided to pick this book up. Boy was it worth it.

I'm only about half way through it and I've had some actual laugh-out-loud moments. You don't have to be a fan of Maddox to get a kick out of his satirical writing, but if you are, you'll love it even more. Then again, if you aren't a fan of Maddox, you need to just go the fuck away and pick some daisies or something.

It's slightly different than his writing on his website, but it's still quite funny, and a very enjoyable read. I've had to force myself to put the book down quite a few times today so I could actually get some work done.

Anyway, I don't know what else to say about it besides it's awesome, but obviously it is because it's by Maddox.

I read the first few chapters in Barnes & Noble back when it came out. Fucking awesome. I just haven't gotten around to buying it yet. Another good one is Look at My Striped Shirt. It's a conglomeration of essays written from the perspectives of annoying stereotypes. I laughed my ass off in the store while reading some of this book. I'm going to pick it up sometime soon.

How much is it?

It was like $15 after taxes at Barnes & Noble.

Man that's awesome, I knew he had been planning/writing a book for a while but I haven't been able to get onto his site in forever and now I guess it's out. I'm definately going to Books-a-million once I get a chance. :)

What, exactly is the book about, just random comparisions that is usually found on the website?

It's A-Z with skits for each letter.

It's exactly what it's called, an Alphabet of Manliness. Like, A is for Ass-kicking, with a chapter to go with it. D is for Taking a Dump, U is for Urinal Ettiquette, etc.

I showed my mom the diagram of urinal choosing, and she laughed at me.

I liked how he actually came up with a formula you can use to figure out which urinal to go to. That was great.

I've been meaning to buy that since I heard about it. Maddox is so fucking awesome.

He's an asshole, so it is funny.

I liked his rant where he beat the crap out of some family's grandfather (comic). It was great "Mom! Grandpa shit himself again!" "That's it, I'm calling Maddox!"

I like the rant about the iPhone.

Book better be in stock when I get to work tomorrow.

I've been meaning to read this since I ran out of manga.
