I'm confused, have they moved from the old 3rd person view? Also looks like I won't be playing it until I upgrade my computer. = /

As for getting a new computer, Fallout 3 uses the Gamebryo engine (which they also used for Oblivion). If your computer runs Oblivion well, it will most likely run Fallout 3 just as fine. |
I run about 25fps tops on World of Warcraft with the graphics at minimum. =P
I often raid at 5fps, which is frightening to others as I'm usually a Tank. |
No the original view was isometric and the new one is either third or first person depending on how you want to play its changeable in game. I can't wait until Autumn 2008 though I might freeze myself...
All I know is that F3 is gonna kick so much ass that game companies will either go blind or have to shit out their mouth. |
If you plan on upgrading to one of the next gen consoles, you won't have to worry about the PC issue. It's going to be available on PS3 and XBOX360. And yes, the view is interchangable on the fly. Additionally, it can be played like a shooter (but based on RPG statistics), or you can employ the V.A.T.S. targeting system (which pauses the game and allows you to target specific body parts as shown in the image of the Super Mutant above).

Before I was given a PS2 for my birthday a few years back, my newest console was a SNES, I'm not a console gamer. :)
If I'm dropping a few hundred dollars to game, it's gonna be a PC upgrade, for sure. |
Fair enough. PC gaming hasn't really done it for me. Doesn't feel like there's enough of the "pick up and play" option. Plus, my PC hardware has always been suboptimal to say the least.
|
I hear you on that, but most games I just can't stand to use a controller for. I don't see how the HALO guys do it, I can't play a FPS without a mouse and keyboard.
|
We called that Decker Syndrome back when Counter Strike was still around and they released some of the first FPS games on consoles that went online. Some people just couldn't play with all their skill using a controller so the online consoles thing never really got the fame it deserved due to people more often than not getting PC versions of said games.
Hey VaultDweller did you see the trailer for combat yet? It's on some sites but you gotta be a member to see them. |

Haven't had much of a chance to search things lately. Working on a huge project for my management class. Anybody here know anything about writing a grant proposal?
At any rate, I'll try to get around to finding that footage tomorrow. |
Grrr won't let me touch the right click or copy paste when I go into the members area. Grant proposals eh? You mean asking someone for money or officially giving someone money? If so I would imagine making it out like a check somewhat or just writing a letter saying, "BITCH GIMME MONEY OR IMMA PWN YO MOMMAS ASS!" to congress.

Wow, those images are brilliant, looks freaking amazing...jebus.
|
If I may just say something about the camera:
- Like Oblivion, there will be a first person camera, and a third-person camera - Like the original Fallouts, there will also be an isometric camera. |
Oooooh they confirmed the addition of an isometric camera now that's awesome.

Whilst it may be nice for a PC, I don't think an isometric camera would work that well on a console game.
|
Then don't use it! Better too many options than not enough. They have to please NMA and that's a damn tough job.
|
Yeah, the clamour from the NMA community has been rather loud about a variety of issues. If the isometric view hadn't been included...I don't even want to think about the potential fanboy (pipboy?) response.
