Help with RMXP Window Size!

Hey, was just wondering if anyone could help me with RMXP, I've been using rm2k and rm2k3 for a few years now and I've decided to see what all the fuss was about with RMXP, but when i got it, most of the windows where too big. i.e. the database window and script window.

i was wondering if anyone could help me with the problem. I've tried change the resolution of my screen and such but that doesn't make any different. any help would be much appreciated.:)

As far as I know, there's no way to change the sizes of the windows.

You'l have to either buy a 50" monitor, or just make do with it. Sorry.

I'm not sure if you want the game or editor screen bigger. There's a nice script for changing game res, though.

actually, there is a fix. I'll find it. wait for an edit.

**Edit...**

I have failed to find it. I have it on a CD at home, I just don't know why I cannot find it...

Hmm.

sorry i should of made myself a little clearer in the original post. i was hoping if anyone could help me find out a way of making the windows in the editor smaller, such as when you bring up the database editing window, or the script editing window as they seem to go off my screen and i cant see the bottom of them.

Your monitor has to be over nine THOUSSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAND!!!

KagomJack 2007-02-27 11:18 AM

Are you viewing this at 800 by 600? If so, try 1024 by 768 or something higher. I did that when I couldn't view the bottom of windows and it worked out better.

I win.

Needs to be something over 1000.

My monitor is 1440x900 and it misses the bottom of the script editor off.

KagomJack 2007-02-27 11:21 AM

I totally missed that part.

Sounds like RMXP is a POS to me.

Lenny 2007-02-27 11:59 AM

It seems to be designed specifically for 1200x1024 monitors... and of course any monitors with a higher resolution.

That's stupid. How hard can it be to design it where it will work in all resolutions?

I have a smaller monitor and it shows. Screenshots please?

[perv]If you let me look at yours, you can look at mine. [/perv]

i think the problem is resolution, i went to my friends house and he had recently imstalled rpg maker XP, he had the same problem but i bigger montor so when he put his resolution up to 1280 x 1024 it worked fine. lenny was right, your montor has to be 1200x1024 monitors or bigger. *bows down to lenny and his infinite knowledge* lol

Lenny 2007-03-04 02:18 PM

Haha. I only know that because it was a pain on the old 800x600 monitor, and it still doesn't fit on my 1440x900 monitor.

Feggy 2007-03-04 08:33 PM

so i guess if i get this working all i gotta do know is learn how to write the script *puts life on hold for several months... unplugs fone, cuts plug off tv, and installs the 'bucket' onto chair* i've never learned a scripting language before, this could take some time...

and on a more constuctive note, i've been searching for patches to fix this problem for a little while now, if i find any i'll post the link here

Lenny 2007-03-05 09:31 AM

Don't worry, it ain't that hard.

The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

Atnas is our resident scripter, and I'm sure he'll help out a bit if you get stuck.

Atnas 2007-03-05 04:29 PM

No need for you to learn how. RMXP.org is full of scripts. In fact, it's full of everything.

!King_Amazon! 2007-03-05 04:41 PM

Sounds to me like it's full of shit.
