Lost

Has anyone else watched the end of season 2 yet? I found the second season to be rather slow initially, but it has been picking up speed, and the final twin episode was very spectacular.

Spoilers:

Locke and Echo are, in my opinion, far too important characters to have been killed off by the "magnetic blast". Also, considering how important it is to press the button (to prevent the end of the world?), shouldn't Dharma Initiative have thought of a smarter solution than to hook up a computer which requires manual input from a person to the magnetic discharge process? Also, why would they put blast doors in there which prevent people from reaching the computer to save the world?

I'm pretty sure it's just a test of some kind with flashy effects to really see how far people would go. Come on, there's even a monitoring station to show the progress. If the plane was indeed downed by the earliest "magnetic incident", maybe the flashy effects were just a bit too powerful for their own good? After all, the plane was really far off course. Or did I miss something?

On another, more important note:

THEY FORGOT VINCENT!

i gave up on the show after realizing that i can only catch the last 20 minutes of the show every week in the first season.

Randuin 2006-05-26 09:11 PM

Internet is good for that kind of thing.

dirty_sox3 2006-05-26 09:15 PM

i guess

I like Lost, however I often forget when its on. I did catch the ending and am really excited to see what happens next year.

Well, I lost Lost, so let me start out with that.

I agree that season 2 was slow at times, but that was mainly because they had so many weeks without a new episode that it made it very frustrating to watch. The first few episodes this season were captivating! I mean, introducing the hatch and everything was awesome! Then, it slowed down, they didn't answer questions, and finally BOOM! The last few episodes put me on my ass, especially with Michael killing Ana Lucia and Libby. I almost fell out of my chair when that happened.

Also, I made the prediction that "Henry Gale" was actually going to end up being the main boss man of The Others. I'm still REALLY confused on what is going on though. I mean, they said to travel a certain course and that once you leave the island, you can never come back. Is this some sort of "Truman Show" where they are all in an enclosed dome or something being monitored?

I completely agree though that Locke and Ecko are far too important to be dead. That was really quite bizzar though when the sky and everything was flashing white lights when the counter went to zero, so I'm confused at what is actually happening? I thought for sure it was simply a test and nothing was going to happen, but that is obviously wrong. The part that made me suspicious was the fact that The Others didn't even really flinch after that incident happened. When the sky went to normal and the noise went away they weren't even phased really, they just went along like nothing had happened.

What about at the VERY END when those two guys, which were IN THE SNOW by the way, locked in on the electromagnetic activity and immediately called up someone. My guess is that Desmond's wife was the person being contacted, and that her father is in charge of the Dharma Initiative. He has endless amounts of money, so he has the means to put this program in place, and the daughter did say to Desmond at the stadium that with enough money, you can find anyone, so she probably set up that surveilance team to find him again. Just my theory, but who knows. That finale was friggin' awesome, but it actually really confused the shit out of me....

I'm starting to believe the whole thing is actually a socialogical or psychological experiment.

It's intended to torture the people to see how they react.

Titusfied 2006-05-31 09:38 AM

My question is, if Desmond always had that fail safe key, why the hell did he run the first time when the computer was shot and he didn't think the numbers could be input? Why wouldn't he wait and use it then?

Rurouni Storm 2006-05-31 12:03 PM

Perhaps he was instructed not to?

Are you still alive? Shit, I could've swore AIDS would've shut you up by now.

There was a commercial on during Lost that had the Dharma symbol in it, so I went to the website on the commercial and it said YOU WILL OBEY. Freaky? The words were in a pentagon with white - green screens bordering it. I lost the site, I'll search for it.

Titusfied 2006-06-07 06:02 AM

HanzoFoundation.com or something like that. It's been around for a while, but that's the first time I saw a commercial for it.
