Laser Eye Surgery
Well, I had WaveFront corrective laser eye surgery done yesterday to correct my myopia (Nearsightedness). It's fucking amazing because I can see everything! My eyes are a little dry, which is normal, but other than that, everything is like I'm wearing contact/glasses.
I can't believe it. It's by far the greatest thing I've ever done. The procedure was actually pretty fucked up, but it was easy and short now that I think about it. Good stuff. Discuss my new eye sight. |
So you can see your penis now?
I was thinking of getting that. I doubt I'll let the ARMY do it though, I'd probably end up blind or dead. Best just to pay for it. |
Maybe you will actually be able to snipe someone now Titus. That's awesome that all went well though. Congratulations.
|
You lucky bugger. I'd kill to be able to see properly again. :(
How short-sighted were you? Could you, like me, not see anything clearly from more than a foot away, or were you even worse/better? Anyway, good for you, getting your eyes sorted out. :) Now you can see Halo from across the room... :p |
How much did it cost you?
Was it knifeless? |
congrats yet again. U are a high 10 right now
|
man my vision is probably worse than yours, Titusfied. the time before I checked my eyes last, my vision was 20/400 or something like that... now it's even worse... my mom says that in prescription terms(not the 20/20 way) i have a -6.something(which doesn't mean anything to me, all I know is that it's worse) for example i can't see words/letters clearly unless they're about 4 and 3/4 inches away! ha! beat that Titusfied!
|
Hehehe.
-6 is really quite shocking. The last optician I spoke to was really surpised that my prescription is about -2.5 to -3, and I know I can barely see anything, so -6 must be terrible! Did you say you were contacts, Titus? What are they like? I'm a-thinking of contacts. But they're so expensive! |
yah how much did it cost? but that sounds awesome, i have horrible vision also so i am kind of thinking about getting it when i'm old enough

For both eyes, it cost $3,875, plus a $100 dilation test two days earlier. It was "knifeless", however, it wasn't "bladeless". They used some sort of circular pressurized blade to cut a perfect circle in my cornea so they could get it out of the way for the laser to reshape the tissue structure. It was pretty fucking scary in the surgery room, being 100% awake and all, but it only lasted about 10 minutes to do both eyes, so it was like high anxiety for a very short period of time. |
That sounds horrible!
"Now don't worry Mr. Titus, this won't hurt one bit, we're only going to cut into your eye." zzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! "AAAARGHHHH!!!" Hell, if it works then it works. When I get older I'll have to get it done. I don't want to go blind...then again, I'll probably get glaucoma. No way to really avoid that. :p |
How long does it last for 10 years? I heard it doesn't last forever.
|
Lasts long enough for you to save up for the next time I suppose. Better than ten years of grubby prints on glasses forever sliding down your nose, or poking bits of membrane or whatever they are into your eyes.
And as the 10 years elapse technology will get better and the next time could last 20 years, or 40 years, or maybe a lifetime. You never know. |

how the fuck do you not jerk your eyes?

I want to get laser eye surgery ...im tired of contacts but its so damn expensive! When I join the army maybe they'll do it for free so that I can be sniper.....maybe...just maybe
|
Glasses bend lines...so yeah, I hate them. However, the thought of someone cutting a hole into my eye while I'm awake doesn't sound too appealing on the nerve factor, nor does the price.
|
hey how bad did it hurt?
|
It didn't hurt at all during the procedure. The ONLY painful part was the 45 minutes after the surgery, when my eyes went from numb to not numb, and I didn't have any pain medication yet.. My eyes felt like they were on fire and I had like quadruple migraine headache pain..
Oh, and the procedure lasts forever. Of course, it doesn't cure aging eyes, so when I get older I'll still need reading glasses, or I may get glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc. You can also buy different packages, which will insure your eyes for X amount of time. There is a 3 year plan where they will make touch ups for free if my eye sight deteriorates in that period, and there is a lifetime plan. Not moving was the hardest part. I was seriously freaking the fuck out for the entire time I was getting the procedure done.. It was not cool at all. The worst part was when the first eye was done and I knew I still had the other eye to go.. :creepy: |
