Icewind Dale trilogy
I cant belive I waited so long into my life to read my first R.A. Salvatore book. Last week, I completed the Icewind Dale trilogy and was amazed. I just finished Homeland, the first book in the next series, and I foresee myself reading everyone of his books in the next couple months. I actually enjoyed his books moreso then the Shannara series by Terry Brooks.
Still doesnt beat the enders game series tho :( |
The Dark Elf Trilogy is much better.

What "grade level" or "reading level" would you attribute to these books? :o

They're really nothing major, just good stories. |
Yea, its about the story, not the reading level... and I cant really say what grade level they are, because I started reading 400+ page novels back in 5th grade while everyone else was reading Goosebumps.

What sucks about DnD for me tho, is they are in the Ebberon campaign now, and I just fell in love with Faerun less then 4 months ago.
|
Um... Forgotten Realms is a campaign setting. So, in the Forgotten Realms series, they're in... Forgotten Realms.

Faerun is a continent in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. I think that, in essence, a campaign setting is like a universe. So the happenings in Eberron are completely separate from the happenings in Forgotten Realms.
So your concern that you'll be leaving one setting behind for another is founded, but my point was that, if the "they" you were referring to were the characters of Forgotten Realms, then they're not in Eberron. They're in Forgotten Realms. |
Not sure about Eberron or Forgotten Realms being continents, but I would treat different settings as different worlds, pretty much.

Im reading the cleric quintet right now, I like it, Cadderly is a cool character. I also ordered all the rest of the Drizzt books I dont have, cant wait for them to get here. Also DnD Online looks gay. Ill just stick with Neverwinter Nights 2.
|
I'm just starting the last Drizzt book that I know of. It's my... 15th I think. I'll prolly go back and read the Cleric Quintet if you say it's good. Otherwise, I'm gonna move on to Wheel of Time, more Dragonlance (if I can find any), or just read some classics.
