So I suppose the ? is...

To teach the noob, or not to teach?

Thats about all they're is too it. I kinda had to learn on my own for the most part. Just read guide after guide, edited a ton of scipts. We're talking about D2 here but it really applys to any game where the advanced have knowledge over the noob.

u do have a point there are 1000's of guides for d2 and they do help u out a lot i read some of them when first started playing which was 3 yrs ago

Sovereign 2005-07-16 06:36 PM

If they are nice, I help them. If they show an interest in the game I /f add them.

If they are the kind who joins a game and spams "YOU HAVE FREE SOJ FOR TRADE?", then I ignore then.

I did the same thing for Starcraft: brood war. If the guy was nice to talked to an asked me for help, I gave it.

We were all noobs at one time. Believe it or not. Some people learn faster then others. Some just need help.

Proper grammar and complete sentences help. Then people will actually read your posts and understand them.

I like helping noobs unless they are completely incompetent or beg way too much. I mean, if they don't know anything, who else is going to teach them?

Kaneda 2005-07-16 08:16 PM

I help as many people I can in game. Just cause I think overall it makes if most people are dealt w/ nicely they spread it. But outside of the game, It's kinda eh, cause it's taking up game time. Fuck... I need to do laundry.

I guarantee I was the elite of the elite when I played, and I didn't get there by being an asshole. I always shared and helped out when I could, ask anyone that played with me.

Moral of the story is, that little noob that you helped out the other day, will have something you need one day and chances are he won't forget you hooked him up.

slaynish 2005-07-17 02:21 AM

Thats the truth chrome;

That's also how I've gotten so far in Diablo, when I actually played. Now, whenever I need a hookup from a long time friend, and my money arrived today, and i owe a guy some soul spurs or something, i can get a fresh fast hookup, cheap or free. The juice is worth the squeze.(sp)

sue_13 2005-07-17 04:27 AM

I always helped a little bit... I was always too poor to do a whole lot other than make some suggestions or spare some mid-range stuff

Kaneda 2005-07-17 07:48 AM

True that. I have a friend who started noob, and I gave him I means tons of mid-grade items. Now he's got a couple godly chars, and hooks me up.

sue_13 2005-07-17 11:57 PM

I was always semi-broke... but I still could compete so it was all good.

JRwakebord 2005-07-18 07:01 AM

I remember when I started D2, and I loved that there were people willing to help the n00bs like me. I love how Halo2 covers the n00b situation with assigning ranks to people so they (hopefully) only play people as good as them. And for when there is someone who has never played before, custom games!

Penny_Bags 2005-07-18 06:59 PM

I'll teach a noob... Yeah... I will....

If he sucks my dick.

When I was a noob I got taught by a friend(still a good friend of mine still lol) I remember after I had learnt all the shit in d2 back in .09 I started to help some people they were cool and all... I remember this one time I added a dude that was hecka noob so I gave him shit for his pally ... he had a lightsaber he loved it was like 167% or w/e I tried giving him a bstar but he said nt so ya know I go away for like a week and then I get back on and he msgs me "omg you know what i found??!?!?!??! ohm rune in cows!!!!!" so I'm like "still got it or did you trade it for something uber??" his response "nope i put it in my bad ass light sabe" my response "..." lol it was sooo funny I screened it and vowed that if a noob didn't act like a jackass I'd help him to avoid what my friend did lol

Penny_Bags 2005-07-19 10:45 AM

Yeah. Your chars pwn all. gg.

platnum 2005-07-19 01:25 PM

rofl. hahaha.

Well anyways, I would always give shit away after botting and stuff, I pretty much had everything I could ever want in that game. Its nice to have a few people owe you favors. Though thats not the reason I did it.
