i am just wondering why there is no white history month. i mean dam there is a black history/hispanic history but there is not a white history month. White people are still the majority of the united states population so why the fuck dont we have a month??

I think every month is white history month. I mean, look at school. Every day we learn about white-history. Now you can't even let us have a month to ourselves? Albeit unofficial, you still get 11. Every month is white-history month.

I don't see how that's true at all. That theory only works when you're in history class, and the topics pertain to European history or American history before the Civil War. "Black History Month" affects everything. Television, magazines, radio. Black History month suddenly becomes about focusing all media and public attention to "celebrating awareness" of black history. No other race on the planet gets a whole month of that.

Like I've said several times in the past, replace Black History Month with Native American History month. Yeah, we have done horrible things to the african people, the oriental people, and various other immigrant groups. However, each of those groups still has a "motherland" and a culture to return to. They still have current-day evidence of their roots and still have a living, breathing place to gain pride from. What to the native Americans have? Jack shit. They've got shitty reservation land and a culture that has been wiped off the face of the planet. They don't have a culture to go back to. The least we could do is give them a fucking month of our attention.

I was actually being sarcastic. I don't like these history months either. But for debates sake, I'll say I do.

I don't really see much of a problem with their being a real Black History month. As it is now the problem I see is that Black History month has little to do with actual Black history. All I seem to remember about it is a bunch of hoopla having to do with Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, etc. I don't think people from Africa give 2 shits about those people. I would think that Black History would deal with the African nations and such since isn't that the real "Black History"? Instead they should call what they have now "African American History Month". The Black History thing is a huge fucking joke. I actually would be sort of interested to hear about the origins of the African nations and African people in general.

They should cover that in school, which I feel they don't do a good enough job doing, but I don't see a reason for a designated month to where you should have to learn about black history.

It's mainly so that people in Louisiana know black people exist.

Reason for black history month - Thw white man made the black man there slave. Because white people made blacks slaves, the white people feel/black people wanted a month to view all black history as respect and forgiveness for what we did to them.

They still dont deserve a whole month to themselfs and not let any other race have a whole month. That is racist.

Agreed. Slavery amongst blacks was the most horrendous instance of that depraved institution, at least from what I've learned. Agreed that other races had it worse, though. At least the blacks aren't in danger of extinction. Still, I'm not going to sit and be thankful for not being exterminated. The right to exist is something that should never even be in question.

On the other hand, there is no possible way that you can blame the white people of today for what their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. Yes, black people were oppressed for hundreds of years, but that excuse isn't an excuse for everything. Yes, because of slavery, I believe we (black people) have been set back, but it's not something to use as an excuse. Most white people of today are pretty nice, decent people. More than likely, almost all of their ancestors at some time or the other owned a black slave. It doesn't make their decendent a bad person. It's only those people who are still bigots that should be beat.

well if we are gonna talk about enslavement/maltreatment then why the fuck dont we have a Jewish History month. The Jews had it 1000 times worse then black people. they were slaves for the Nazi's and if they didnt do thier jobs well enough or got sick then they were killed on the spot. I for one have not heard of any cases where a White man killed a slave just becuase he didnt get his job done well enough. Slave owners generally treated slaves with bearable conditions for the simple reason that the slave owner paid money for the slave so therefore he had value. i mean you dont just go kill all of your workers for no apparent reason when you had to make an investment into them to begin with.

However the Jews were different because Hitler didnt pay shit for them so they were not an asset to him because he could always just get more Jews for free to do slave labor.
