Forced Servers Confirmed

That's right. Our guild may have to be reorganized.

I'll believe it when I read it on the Blizzard site.. anything can happen at this point.

Randuin 2004-10-04 04:40 PM

Post your locations!

Sovereign 2004-10-04 04:49 PM

Central US

Ah I'm glad this happened!

Randuin 2004-10-04 05:12 PM

I guess Volls will only be the leader of US West

Vollstrecker 2004-10-04 05:17 PM

Ok, this is what I've gathered, flying thru about every damned thread over on this:
  • It appears this will not affect the North American servers. We should be able to go East/West without any trouble, however anyone overseas appears to be fucked. Australia's region is unknown as of this time.
  • This may or may not be for a limited time after release.
  • There is an apalling lack of response from Blizzard about this issue, so most of the information that I've gathered seems to be hearsay evidence.

Just in case, I am West Coast.

Q: Before the Beta, drinking effects were mentioned as possibly turning all characters into a hot female. Will new effects/consequences be implemented aside from the slurring of text, and swaying when walking?

A: For every 20% drunk you are, creatures appear one level lower than they actually are.
Haha. That's great.

I let Jim Beam
Tell me I could
Take some guy
Twice my size,
But ol' Jim lied.

This just seems to be for playing (or not playing) internationally. No big deal for us. Mostly just means Europeans can't play on North American servers at launch.

Randuin 2004-10-04 05:23 PM

Right, and we won't have an influx of level 99 Koreans

Grav 2004-10-04 05:25 PM

It's actually beneficial if you think about it.

Randuin 2004-10-04 05:30 PM

You mean massive itamz?

Grav 2004-10-04 05:31 PM

No, the server nonsense.

Vollstrecker 2004-10-04 05:31 PM

I can't think of any WoW people here overseas, we seem to be ok. Beneficial if all the friggin' Guilds that go from Game to Game skip this one for that reason. Less Korean power-gamers to flood the economy and be general jackasses.

Blizzard's lack of comment on this still disturbs me.

Grav 2004-10-04 05:32 PM

Their comment was "we'll discuss it later."

Randuin 2004-10-04 05:35 PM

ask_rabber told me he was Korean in attempt to get my beta account... :(

Vollstrecker 2004-10-04 05:36 PM

LMAO!

He tried the "Azn pride" thing, huh?

Randuin 2004-10-04 05:50 PM

He started with "What's your pet's name"
