Tim Brown signs with BUCS
Gruden and BROWN reunite!
www.nfl.com Brown reunites with Gruden in Tampa Bay NFL.com wire reports LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Aug. 10, 2004) -- Tim Brown signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a move that reunites the former Oakland receiver with ex-Raiders coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen. The 38-year-old, nine-time Pro Bowl receiver will be counted on to bolster a receiving corps that is in desperate need of experienced help because of injuries and Keenan McCardell's holdout. Brown was released last week after 16 seasons with the Raiders, who told one of the most popular players in team history that he was no better than the fourth or fifth best receiver in a group that included starters Jerry Rice and Jerry Porter. With Tampa Bay, Brown could wind up being a starter with McCardell demanding a raise after a Pro Bowl season and Joe Jurevicius out indefinitely after undergoing back surgery earlier this month. The Bucs also think rookie receiver Michael Clayton, the team's first-round draft pick, can benefit from being around and learning from the 17th-year pro. Brown played a franchise-record 240 games for Oakland, and his streak of 173 consecutive games with at least one reception is the second-longest in NFL history behind Rice's 213. He's second of the all-time list with 14,734 yards receiving, third in receptions with 1,070, tied for fourth with Hall of Famer Don Huston with 99 touchdowns and fifth with 19,434 all-purpose yards. The 1987 Heisman Trophy winner played for Gruden from 1998-2001, the last four years in a stretch of nine consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving. Two years ago, he helped lead the Raiders to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the Gruden-led Bucs. Last season, Brown had 52 catches for 567 yards and two TDs. In my opinion this is pretty good news for the Bucs. They jumped all in his case when he got cuz, and now he's with gruden. He is old, but he can definately help out their franchise. |
Yeah, that is a solid #2 receiver to replace Keyshaun. Now, all they need is for Keenan to stop being such a contract hold-out whore, then they can get back to at semi-respectable team once again.
I was hoping Brown would sign with the Eagles, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. We already have enough studs to get it done. EAGLES!! |

I'm sorry Shinto, but this is not a gamming forum. It is a gaming forum.
D3V, keep up the good work. Eventually, you might make them get out of their house and pick up a football/basketball once in a while. |
Shinto , please quit your bitching. I was told that since they aren't going to make a Sports related forum, then I could post whatever kinda updates I wanted in Gen Conv. This is a pretty big event for sports fans, and it's better than anything you'll ever post.
I gave credit, that gives me the right to copy/paste for whoever hasn't read it already. |
pwn that rocks!
|
Yeah, Keenan will sign eventually. He's just trying to get more money out of them, hopefully they can pull something out of their ass and be a contendor for the playoffs this year.
|
oh theyll kick ass, they always needed a better offense

Obsessing over a Video game is worse than Idolizing any human being. Even if they are a retarted dimwit athlete.
You can't say somebody's life is boring because they are a sports fanatic, whats pathetic and boring is your life on Zelaron.com, which you spend every second of every minute here. Um, that was an attack? .. If I said it I wouldaza gots banned!@@ |

Wow you hack d2, haha loser. I bet you do, probably say "OOH GODLY JUST H4XED SOME KIDDY WITH MU HNEW SCAMZ0R!" There isn't any space to fill. I play sports whenever I can, and I love to watch it, the intensity of the game is exhilirating, watching my team stomp other teams is fucking pwn. And what you do all day is 'hack d2'. Real proud of you Shinto, I bet your parents are emberassed of you. Quote:

First of all, shut the fuck up Shinto. You are in the wrong in this situation. He has been informed to post whatever sports threads he wants here. Anyway, 3 threads have already been made about this subject, and unanimous consensus has already been decided that we like those threads.
If you don't want to read about it, don't click on the thread. The title is more than clear what the thread topic will be about. On-Topic. Tim Brown is a decent WR. I personally think he is washed up, but he claims that is was Callahan's program at Oakland that limited his stats last year. Who knows, maybe he will have a kick ass year. Regardless, I don't want the Bucs to make the playoffs. I hate them more than anything. |
Who the fuck are you to assume what I do with my life?

Respond please.

I can just feel the love in this thread. Maybe he's not responding because he is taking the higher road and obeying the rules? Nah, he's just a coward. ;)
jkjkjkjkjkjk Nevermind, I wasn't. jkjkjkjkjkjk Anyway, Tim Brown was a great receiver, but should not be playing outside of Oakland. He'll still retire as a Raider, but it is rare that a player plays for one team for 16 straight years. I wish he would have never went to the Bucs. |
Shinto is probably too busy picking out wich girl's belt he wants to wear today.
Anyway, Tim Brown is a good receiver. I've had him on my fantasy football team for the past two seasons and he hasn't dissapointed me yet. |
