Zelaron Debate
 

I think that we should have a Zelaron Debate. You know, have a major topic, and have people pick which sides that they support / argue for. That'd get some actual intelectual input from some of the members here, ? Maybe.

It's a good idea, D3V, but I think it would be dead most of the time. The General Conversation section's purpose are such threads, but such threads do not seem to exist.

I like the idea. For the official debate,though, were gonna have to have to adapt a zero tolerance for spam, flames and the sort, or else, its just like another thread in the gen con forum.

Why don't you guys do that for the General Conversation section as well, and leave all the spam for the Chat Forum, and the flames for the Flame Forum.

Because they people woudl start bitching at me for being a rule nazi ect ect, and it would just end up adding more of the shit that we dont want in that forum.

But I think the Gen Conv would be a great place to 'host' it. Theres a whole giant list of topics. ex: Abortion, Smoking, Marijuana Legilazation.etc.etc.

A thread, possibly a stickied one called "Debate of the week" or something along those lines would suffice.

We should make a list of like 10 topics, to keep us busy for a while. Possibly get a vote for the topics we would want to keep / trash. Well abortion obviously is a great debate every can argue over, and put in some point of views of.

I like the idea, but it's going to need structure. Like teams of some sort so we can have 1 argument put up, then the opposing side counter, and so on and so forth. Not just a free for all.

We could have another sticky ever week, with signups for different sides of the debate. The second a new debate starts, signups for next weeks debate would begin.

I think we should do is device of a list of topics that will be debated. THen we can have signup sheets for each side if you are willing to participate. Possibly having certain amounts of people per side?

1. Abortion?
2. War in Iraq?
3. Why they should raise or lower the age to vote, smoke or drink.
4. Should animals be used for scientific experimentation?
5. Does society have a right to put someone to death?
6. Affirmative action
7. NFL: Right to decide who gets to play?(Age limit)
8. Pirating Music / Software
9. Drugs : Should We Legalize, Decriminalize, Or Deregulate?
10. The Gun Control Debate : You Decide

Theres a list of 10 possible topics. Expand on it, change it , etc. just Build constructively off of it.

Indeed. I supported a making of this type of forum quite a while back. I still think it would be cool to be put into action.

Lets have a debate over why zela does not go into more depth on the wc3 forums or the sc forums or the mmorpg forums or all the other ones. Or lets debate on why the mods and admins dont add stuff to their forums more often and are less active than the old days. Or lets debate why the chat forum sucks big titus dick now. Why don't you cry me a river, build a bridge, and get the fuck over it you jerkoff? I know this isn't the Flame Forum, but for Christ's sake, if you keep bringing up what I supposidly did so bad to the Chat Forum (Which might I add, no one else seems to care about other than zagggon) every week, it gets old. Even you have your limits.

Would you fagets stay on topic? I was kinda hoping for a serious debate, but sice nobody cares too much about it, maybe we shouldn't.?
