Nostalgia attack.

What are some things that you remember vividly from your childhood? Id est: television shows, movies, toys, songs, childhood games, foods, other otherwise useless things and so on.

I remember getting up in the wee hours of the morning just to watch Mr. Wizard. I loved Mr. Wizard, but not as much as Bill Nye The Science Guy.

And did anyone else ever play Dead Man's Hide and Seek?

Tyrannicide 2004-05-18 01:14 PM

I remember Bill Nye the Science guy, that was a good show then. I vividly remember Captian Bugy-o-hair (somethin like that)tv show, cartoon.Yoys and such, umm tonka trucks and such. umm, the things that were vehicle/monster liek things.

Four words: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I remember the original power rangers

Jessifer 2004-05-18 02:44 PM

The original Power Rangers rocked compared to the recent crap they're putting out. TMNT was better, though.

Sovereign 2004-05-18 02:50 PM

Meh.

I also remember some old old show on nick, where a bunch of space cadet children got lost in space and crashed into some planet. I forgot the name :(

Jessifer 2004-05-18 02:56 PM

I don't remember anything like that. o.O My prodominant Nick shows were "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", "Salute Your Shorts", and the old episodes of "All That".

Sovereign 2004-05-18 02:57 PM

Maybe it wasnt on nick. I think it was Space Cadets. Or something like that. I remember watching those goosebumbs and wishbones shows once in a while when i was extremely bored.

I remeber how life was perfect and worryless and now it is shitty and dramatic.

Jessifer 2004-05-18 03:39 PM

I miss the days of playing Cops and Robbers on our bikes with bags of leaves and sticks that were shaped like guns. :T And sliding down stairs/hills on my sisters' baby crib matress.

There was this house behind mine that had been vacant for ages, and the grass got to the point where we could actually play Hide and Seek in it. And then they mowed it.

And I was sad.

Quite vividly, apparently.

Tyrannicide 2004-05-18 04:21 PM

Could never spell it right. I have a bunch of episodes on tape. I dont have a working VCR though.

Did you use to watch it?

I remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that was bomb, Power Rangers wasn't very good in my eyes.

KagomJack 2004-05-18 04:42 PM

Things I remember vividly from childhood: MORTAL KOMBAT! Street Fighter! Donkey Kong!

Power Rangers (big craze back in the day) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles most definitely.

Neko 2004-05-18 05:35 PM

I was into TMNT, Batman and all the other superhero shows (Spiderman, X-Men, Fantastic Four) before I got cable. After we got cable I loved Nickolodeon. They had some of the best programming in the 90s with Salute Your Shorts, Wild and Crazy Kids, Double Dare, the old All That. Now however they suck greatly.

My biggest thing though was Power Rangers. My God I loved Power Rangers. I had all the action figures, Kimberly and Tina dolls, watched it every day, and my mom even sewed me a Pink Ranger costume for me in first grade :D

HandOfHeaven 2004-05-18 05:49 PM

I loved that show. I also remember watching those sonic and mario cartoons. Also remember my cousin getting me a sonic stuffed toy when I was 5 and I was pretending to sleep even though i had been watching the sonic show.

Neko 2004-05-18 05:53 PM

Oh man, I remember Sonic. I would get up every morning to watch it. I watched it recently and I realized how horribly bad and cheesy it was. I loved the robot guys, Scratch and Grounder. They were the best.

It reminds me also of Bulk and Skull from Power Rangers. Ah, when they left the show, that was when it started sucking and I stopped watching... :(

HandOfHeaven 2004-05-18 05:57 PM

Just a month ago I caught Sonic while surfing through channels. I remember it being so "cool" but it was VERY cheesey.

I liked the power rangers, when I was 7 we'd play it for recess. Sort of stupid but oh well. I am guessing it's they get so dumb because we all mature and grow out of it so fast. The only cartoons I watch are the classic Tom & Jerry, Simpsons, Southpark, and Family Guy.

Jessifer 2004-05-18 05:57 PM

I never enjoyed Sonic, but I loved me my Fraggle Rock. ^_^

Bill Nye, Eureka's Castle, Tales From The Crypt, assorted classic B horror films.
