About Onlyer No-CD

Ok, even with onlyer no-cd loader i still need the cd in to load diablo, could it be cause i burned a copy from a friend?

For some strange reason, you need *a* CD, but not neccessarily a backup copy. Unless you didn't copy the mpqs from the CD to the D2 folder, that is.

How did you burn it? Did you use CDClone or some other like that? If you're using Nero, that could be the problem. For burning games I'd recommend using CD Clone.

You could also borrow a real disk and complete these exact instructions:

1. Extract d2loader.zip onto desktop

2. Open Diablo II directory and rename Diablo II.exe(Original) to any different name **example** (Diablo2.exe)

3. Open d2loader file and copy Diablo II.exe then paste into Diablo II directory

4. Copy from classic disc these 2 files: d2char.mpq, d2music.mpq into Diablo II directory

** These 2 files from classic might have already been installed into directory, if so don't over write skip to next step

5. Copy from expansion disc these 2 files: d2xmusic.mpq, d2xvideo.mpq into Diablo II directory

6. Remove any Diablo II disc's from drive

7. Double click on new shortcut and Diablo should load without cd

I followed those exact steps, but D2 won't load unless there is some CD in the drive. Even a blank CD will make it work, but it gives me an error box if the drive is empty.

This sounds usefull but somewhat silly...

What do you mean? kockblocker is claiming that by following his steps, D2 should run with no CD in the CD drive, and I am telling him that I followed his steps and they don't yield the result he says they should.

i use the no cd crack as do my friends. i set it up for all of us and it works fine i just copied the listed files and i have never had to have a disk in at all. maybe you should try to find a different copy of the d2 loader maybe it became corrupted or something.

what does the error box that you get say?

Do you have bit torrent? If so download a program called Alcohol 120%. This program creates vitrual drives in which you can mount cd images (iso, bin, cue, etc.) You can create an image of your Diablo II disk and mount it to a virtual drive on you PC (my d2 image is mounted in T: drive). You will still need d2 loader though. Try it and let us know what happens. This setup works perfect in my PC.

I'll work on this in a little bit, I believe you gotta go into your registry and change DiabloIICD in Software > Blizzard > DiabloII .. It should be pointed to your CD Drive, but you'd probably watn to change it to your Diablo folder so it doesn't try and read D: on load.

I have problems with D2Loader also.. It will load my D2 in windowed mode, and it comes up, but the second I click the screen (to get out of title screen & access menu) my game crashes. It also crashes if i use -skiptobnet command

so basically i cant open my game unless I use my original cd without d2loader...

any ideas?

-bump back up- Sorry. This thread was starting to get lost, & I'd really like some help with getting my D2Loader to work :x.
