Virus Alerts. Please Help.
 

Hi, my parents have been getting emails back from an "undeliverable message bot", but the thing is they didn't email it. And after than another one of those bots said they found viruses in that message, but we didn't send it. Any advice, besides updating and running VirusScan? I use Macafee, by the way, but i don't speak it :D .

Keep in mind that the newest viruses tend to spoof the originating address. So it LOOKS like you sent something, when in fact you didn't send a thing.

Also, (though I forget which one it is, I think it's Mydoom/Novarg), there's a virus currently out that acts like it's an undeliverable message error, with an attachment.

Most likely, you don't have the virus, if your antivirus software is up to date. (Don't rely on it running in the background though, do a full scan to be sure)

Ok thanks. I will do a full scan now then. Scan is complete, detected 6 files. 4 trojans and 2 viruses. Thanks.

Ahh, guess that it wasn't spoofed then. Glad that the scan caught 'em..
