Email enabled
 

We have enabled the e-mailing of other users through the board. This allows a user to fill out a form and the forum will send an e-mail. If you do not want to recieve e-mail from other users, you should turn off this option here:

If you did not enable this option before, it will not be enabled now, however, the option didn't do anything before since board email was globally diabled before.

Enabling users to e-mail you provides an alternate contact method, like providing your AIM or ICQ does. It does not allow mailling list bots to gather your e-mail, but is does allow unscrupulous people to mail a bunch of people through the board. Most people will probably want to turn it off simply because they don't want people they don't know e-mailing them.
