WoW Alpha leaked

Warforge is working on a server.

I'd post how to get it but I think it's against the rules? Dunno I never read them!

Old news. :-P

zeal311 2004-01-04 08:18 PM

Apparently you can download it but all you can do is stare at the main screen because there is no server. If he does manage to get a server up all you will be able to do is walk around. This has probably pushed back the release of WoW atleast 3 years.

Xenn 2004-01-04 08:58 PM

No, it hasn't pushed it back at all. And if a server goes up, you can do everything that is in the game so far (which is almost the whole game cause beta is scheduled for early 2004).

Hades-Knight 2004-01-04 11:00 PM

Waiting for that PM

www.Software-theft-is-wrong.com

Here's some information for you folks. I don't think this is illegal to give you guys this link, but...yea.

Grav 2004-01-07 04:53 PM

Feh. It's taken some emu group like 2 and a half years to just make a DAoC emulator that lets you walk around in an empty world. Yeah, good luck WF. lmao

The DAOC emu, Dark Ages, is actually pretty good.

"As many of you know, we are currently conducting an internal Alpha test for World of Warcraft. Our goal for this Alpha test is to provide the best possible experience for players when the Beta launches in early 2004.

In order to accelerate the testing process, we recently allowed a small group of external testers to play the game. During this process, a collection of files was leaked to the Internet. While these files contain alpha content from the game, they are not fully playable and therefore do not convey the experience that World of Warcraft will provide when it is released.

We are currently investigating this matter and will take serious action against those involved.

As always, we appreciate the interest and enthusiasm that players around the world have for World of Warcraft, and we look forward to delivering a massively multiplayer game unlike any you have ever experienced. Until then, we ask that you refrain from sharing any content that doesn't come directly from Blizzard Entertainment.

Lastly, we would like to announce that sign-ups for the World of Warcraft Beta test will begin at the end of this month. Stay tuned to www.blizzard.com for further details. "

Xenn 2004-01-09 03:19 PM

They are fully playable, just need a server.

uncapped 2004-01-09 09:52 PM

You're somewhat right. All that is available in it's current state is a "sandbox," in which you can walk around, attack, etc. There are no NPC's or items.

Eddie_Perez 2004-01-10 06:14 AM

Hey, can you hook me up with a link?

Xenn 2004-01-10 04:17 PM

Relax

The game is huge and interesting even without stuff in it
