Time...

I don't get it... My watch says 2:31. The TV says 2:31 PM. My cell phone says 2:34. My computer says 2:33. However, just look at this:

It's not 2:54 PM... unless my computer, watch, television, and cell phone are all off by approximately 25 minutes. What's the deal? My time zone setting in user cp is correct. (Even if it was wrong, the change would be off by an interval in the hours, not minutes.)

I don't get it.

The time here is obviously off, but I don't know how either. I've always noticed that because the Activity Bar posts get reset at around 12:42 A.M. my time, when it is actually supposed to get reset at 1:00 A.M. my time on the boards.

Its always been fast, but I've just gotten used to it.

Just get the time it says, add 15 horus 56 mins and 20 seconds and then minus that from 14 hours 55 mins and 11 seconds and you got your time.

Eddie_Perez 2003-12-23 02:54 PM

Or look at your other 4 clocks... who cares about Zel time....

Chruser 2003-12-23 03:50 PM

The server time is off, it's not board-related. If I could just figure out the bash shell command to fix it...

Medieval Bob 2003-12-23 05:43 PM

I care about Zel time because I like to know when things happen sometimes. There's a reason there are time stamps on everything.

D3V 2003-12-23 06:19 PM

What you could do is just not care what time it is, close your eyes and go to sleep...

Check what time it is on the weather channel. They're calibrated to be the most accurate, except possibly for big ben.

Medieval Bob 2003-12-23 08:09 PM

The purpose of the time stamps on posts is for someone to know when a post was made. Looking at the clock on the weather channel does nto tell me that you posted at 7:43 PM, Tai (or rather 7:15 or something...).

Kuja 2003-12-23 08:30 PM

Well the way i see it is that i view the forum from the past and send the post in the future :)
