Has anyone here actually managed to take possession of the Excalibur 2 in FF9? (You have to make it to some balcony in Memoria within 12 hours.)

everyone that's done that has used gameshark. besides, your characters are a lot worse off overall if you do that

No only that. You get Exclibur I first time, when you play the second time you will get Exclibur II!

so u do the same quest again to get Excaliber 2?

Yeah, you have to practically beat the game in less than 12 hours to get the damned sword. I personally don't think it's possible without cheating.

My friend Jeff has Excalibur II and doesn't even own a Gameshark or want anyone fucking with his games. He can beat it in like 10 or 11 hours. He's played through all the FF games about 40 times each.

LOL, i was surfing through the net and found a WALKTHROUGH for beating the game in 12 hours rofl. Its like 4 pages(1 page for each disc, and it acquires resetting the game very, and VERY often if u mess it up... how gay, i rather not get the weapon, since its simple ANYWAYS. lol). No point of beating the game in 12 hours cuz that is just a way of ruining ur characters BAD just to get a good weapon. Its not like u can do ANYTHING with Steiner with his "ExcaliburII". Probably Ultima Weapon(Zidane's best weapon) and ExcaliburI could just own ExcaliburII. For more info about Ultima Weapon, check the forum in like few days or less, ill give u some info, if u are having trouble.

I remember freaking out over FF6 like that. I got it for Christmas in 1994, and I probably put 80+ hours into my first save on that damn game. I don't think I've gone that nuts on a video game ever since.

Video game is a video game... u shouldnt get addicted to it that easily... unless u had some really good reasons which is not likely to happen.

Well, considering that it was the only game I had for about six or seven months, I would say I had fairly good reason to play it constantly. Growing up poor doesn't really offer a person very many opportunities to acquire new stuff. I'll tell you, I had to work my ASS OFF to afford copies of Earthbound and Chrono Trigger.

That's the very reason a lot of people buy RPG's... to get addicted. With no other genre can i put so many hours into a game even after beating it and still have new stuff to do.

Anyways...I beat the game very slowly...I raise my chars to beat the bosses quickly without anyone dying..I just like to fight battles on there :)

Hehe... im at the last boss necron but he doesnt look TOO hard... im just training my characs just in case.
