Anti-Queen, Anti-Drops

Ok, Im not sure if this is cheating, but I figure its just like walling up with depots against comps, its simply taking an advantage of your race's abilities. I've been doing this lately and its working quite nicely. What you do is, lets say you have your basic wall with depots, bunkers and tanks and some turrets I guess. What you could do is take spare CCs (if its BGH) or Engineering Bay / Barracks (For normal maps) and basically fly it and stop it OVER your tanks. What this does, it stops a human player from click on your tank, therefore, queens can not broodling your tank / parasite or anything. I also tried this on a BGH map for fun, I'll try to get a replay of it if I do it again, but if you make enough buildings (I prefer CCs cause they're big, have lots of hit points, and act as supply depots), I build them and fly them all over my base, therefore, my base is now unclickable (that means you dont know whats under those CCs, turrets and bunkers for all you know and its harder to know what exactly your dropping on!. Also, since you can' t click, you can't auto drop, you have to sit there making each dropship drop 1 guy at a time to unknown territory. If you hotkey your buildings (I prefer Starports), you should have no problem building units and using select all, you can easily get your wraiths / BCs to respond to you. In normal money maps, this can go a long way against the zerg. Or even protoss if you want to prevent webbings!

Yeah, you COULD destroy the building, but your going to sit there, (while taking damage and losing units), to destroy a barrack just so you can target ??? amounts of Tanks? ;)

Wow. NEVER thought of that.. I'll have to try that some time against my brother.. now I feel stupid.

Zerg can go up against that quite easy with the use of ol decoy to by pass the turret wall. A drop of hydra/ling and defiler would just destroy the base without much trouble. Swarm protect against hit, plague can make bc/wraith quite useless. Also using 1 or 2 ol decoy + scourge can take down a flying building in no time revealing what is under and creating a great oportunity for the queen to do her stuff.

While against protoss the problem would mainly be how would you stop them from getting in ? Im sure you seen ppl use hallucination on shuttle or arbitrer. There again the wraith and bc are of little use. Psy strom and archon can be quite deadly on them.

Err, your missing the point Im trying to make. Simply put, this just makes it hard to know whats going on underneath. You can't exactly see whats under a Command Center unless you remove it. And this strategy is just an Anti-Queen Broodling and Web. By all means, attack like you normally would, you dont have to go air. This is also not a build to make a fortress. Its simply a strategy you can do to stop players from specifically clicking on a ground unit without having to blow apart the building ontop first. Its meant for Queen Broodlings and Webbing mainly. Yeah, maybe I went a bit overboard but its still a nice trick I think o.O; I mean, if you send a observer / lord to your oppoents entrance and see....4 floating CCs...what the heck is under it? Or you manage to sneak a Queen in to Broodling the peons...but now you see barracks covering the entire mineral gathering...how can you click on the SCV anymore? You want to Yamato a turret? Oops...now you have to yamato that engineering bay ontop of it first of have to come close and shoot it down normally (by making your unit stand on hold position so it auto targets the attacker).

Its not THAT great of a trick, just a bit useful.

I did an edit on this post. You can also use this on Hunters. You know how Terrans love to use that cliff as their siege tank drop area? As Terrans, fly a building to cover and stop them. There is still a chance they'll drop but it'll deley them (hopefully long enough for your turret to blow them away). If they do drop, they can't siege it since they're tank is covered (unless of course they have it hotkeyed, but most Terran players dont hotkey the two tank drop. As Zerg, use your lords and as Protoss....well you dont worry, you just storm the crap outta that cliff lol.
